Capstone

I began my internship with FIU Honors College back in May 2021 with the hopes of gaining some experience in communications. During my time there, my supervisors have granted me the ability to go beyond social media and partake in various mediums. Most importantly, I was able to use my talents to showcase the diverse body of students that make up the Honors College whether it was through simple posts, articles, or videos. I was also able to attend events to gather content that would inspire new generations to join. Most recently, I was working alongside our study abroad coordinator to showcase a selection of new classes that allow students to explore important destinations within the U.S., two which are designated Global Learning courses.

My duties included:

​

• Interviewing students to spotlight their work through social media posts and articles; article published in January 2021

• Developing campaigns to promote the Honors College’s new domestic study away program, Study USA, and the Advanced Research and Creativity in Honors Program

• Serving as Interim Social Media Specialist for HC from January to March 2021, overseeing new cohort of interns
